The Best 6 Days in Morocco: From Casablanca to Marrakech

Our driver will pick you up at your accommodation or at Casablanca airport at 8:00 AM. Your 6-day tour will begin with a visit to the Hassan II Mosque, the second largest in Africa, renowned for its magnificent architecture and ornamentation. It can accommodate approximately 100,000 worshippers. You will then travel to Rabat, the capital, enjoying the superb landscapes along the way.

In Rabat, you will visit the Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and stroll through the lively souks of Chellah. You will then continue your journey through the Rif Mountains, offering breathtaking panoramas. You will discover fascinating historical sites such as Volubilis, the ancient Roman ruins classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site. After lunch, you will visit the historical sites of Meknes, including Bab Mansour and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, before reaching Fes where you will spend the night.

After breakfast, you will meet your private guide for a guided tour of Fes, Morocco's first imperial city. A UNESCO World Heritage site, this city was founded in the 9th century and houses the oldest university in the world. First stop: the entrance to the largest Royal Palace in Morocco. Next, we will admire a breathtaking panoramic view of the medina from the South Tower of Fes, then visit a pottery cooperative where Moroccan tiles and mosaics are made.

We will also discover the tanneries and watch local artisans craft bags, shoes, and clothes from goat, sheep, and cow leather. We will explore a Madrasa (Quranic school), the Nejjarine Fountain, the Mausoleum of Moulay Idriss, and the Al Karaouine Mosque-University. You will have lunch in a traditional restaurant in the medina.

In the afternoon, you will continue your exploration of the medina and its narrow streets, where hundreds of merchants and artisans offer a wide variety of products: dates, fish, spices, and copper vases. We will take you to Borj Nord where you will see the entire medina of Fes, then transfer you to your accommodation for the night.

In the morning, cross the Middle Atlas with a stop in Ifrane, a charming ski resort nicknamed the "Little Switzerland of Morocco," before discovering the fragrant cedar forests populated by chatty Barbary macaque monkeys and picturesque Berber villages. You will have the opportunity to observe the monkeys in the wild and even feed them, while taking memorable photos.

You can then have lunch in Midelt, a magnificent village located between the Middle and High Atlas, and admire the stunning views of the eastern High Atlas. This particularly varied route from north to south offers a multitude of impressions through picturesque mountain landscapes where nomadic shepherds graze their herds of goats and sheep.

Admire the legendary Ziz Valley, which stretches along a deep canyon to Erfoud, the "Capital of Dates." Then, you will cross the rocky desert to arrive in Merzouga, where you will take a camel ride through the golden dunes of Merzouga, stop to admire the sunset, and then continue to your desert camp where you will spend the night with a group of drummers around the campfire.

In the morning, wake up to admire a magnificent sunrise over the dunes of Merzouga, a truly magical experience. Then, set off for a full-day excursion in the Merzouga region, visiting Hassi Lbeid and Tanamoust before reaching Dayet Srij, a charming lake home to flamingos and other wildlife.

Next, immerse yourself in the rhythms of Gnawa music in the village of Khamlia, where you will discover a unique African musical heritage. The adventure continues off the beaten path, on the legendary Paris-Dakar Rally route, to meet nomadic families living in the heart of the vast sandy and rocky desert. In the late afternoon, return to your accommodation, where you will have free time to try buggy or quad biking if you wish. Spend a peaceful night at your accommodation.

In the morning, depart for Rissani, one of Morocco's ancient cities. Visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Ali Cherif, then stroll through the bustling souks of Rissani. Then, cross the Tafilalet oasis. Stop at Melaab to visit a Berber house and try henna, also called "Moroccan tattooing." Continue to the Todra Gorges, the most famous in Morocco, reaching heights of 320 meters.

After lunch, drive to Ouarzazate, enjoying the magnificent landscapes. Stop at Kalaat M'gouna, the "City of Roses," to visit a local rose cosmetic cooperative. Continue the journey on the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, with a stop at Kasbah Amridil, one of the oldest in the region. Continue to Ouarzazate, nicknamed the Hollywood of Africa, where you will visit the Ouarzazate film studios and the Kasbah of Taourirt, then be transferred to your accommodation for the night.

After breakfast at your accommodation in Ouarzazate, we will head to the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, where several films were shot, such as Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and The Mummy. We will then cross the High Atlas, admiring the breathtaking landscapes. Stop at the Tizi n'Tichka pass (2,260 m). Then, we will continue our route to Marrakech, crossing through Berber villages. Upon arrival in Marrakech, transfer to your accommodation or the airport.
